Welcome to the 1961 Class of Montclair High School, located in Montclair, New Jersey. We all graduated on June 15th 1961, with the guys in white sport coats and the gals in various pastel colored dresses - quite different from the traditional caps and gowns seen so often today.
Reunions
A number of reunions have been held, typically at 5 and/or 10 year intervals. The most recent reunion (our 45th) was held on September 30th , 2006 at the Commonwealth Club in Upper Montclair. 85 to 100 people attended this reunion from various locations across the USA. A number of classmates are now retired from their many occupations, and many more are comtemplating this next chapter in their lives. Just about all of us have reared a family, and many of us now have grandchildren to enjoy.
FACING THE FUTURE - A painting by Suzee Stevens Metzger completed in the Spring of 2009. This symbolizes her spiritual walk since she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2008. Suzee's written description can be found on the "Class Document Files" page.
Our class looses another member - This is all we were able to find, if anyone has more information please send it to us.
Mrs. Doreen Fondi Porzig, 65, of Bloomfield, died last year May 18, 2008. Husband - James Porzig; a brother - Larry Fondi; and two sisters - Joan Baskwell and Joy .
